    Institute of Masters of Wine International Symposium 2027

    To be held in Adelaide from 15 to 18 April 2027, the Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW) International Symposium, will explore key issues shaping the future of wine through tastings, presentations and discussions.

    The global event is recognised as a leading forum for wine professionals, researchers and enthusiasts and, over four days, will feature:

    • World-class tastings
    • Evidence-based presentations
    • Industry debate and discussion
    • Themed lunches and dinners

    You do not have to be a Master of Wine to attend, with the Symposium open to all wine-interested participants.

    The program will feature discussions, including:

    • An exploration of how the wine sector can rebuild relevance, led by South Australian Master of Wine, Matt Deller MW
    • Fine-tuned viticulture – gene technology and vineyard resilience moderated by Ross Wise MW
    • A discussion on maintaining wine balance in a changing climate.

    Tasting sessions

    Tasting sessions will showcase exceptional wines and encourage critical reflection, including:

    • A grand Australian trade tasting to showcase the quality and diversity of Australian wine
    • An old vine tasting, moderated by Emma Symington MW
    • Rebuilding relevance – how wine can connect in a changing world, with moderator Matt Deller MW

    Other opportunities for delegates to participate in, includes the Masters of Wine winemakers tasting, themed lunches, an opening night barbecue, winery dinners across South Australia and a closing night gala event.
