South Australia grows its presence across the Americas

South Australia is growing its base across the Americas as it appoints a new Business Development Manager in San Francisco on the west coast of the country, to support companies to expand into the state’s second largest export market, valued at $2.12 billion.

Mr Ryan Lipkin has been appointed as Business Development Manager and will join South Australia’s team of trade and investment specialists already situated in New York, Houston and Washington DC.

Mr Lipkin has extensive experience building and managing strategic partnerships within the food tech, ecommerce, logistics and fleet management sectors, driving revenue growth and executing strategic partnerships.

A hands-on role facilitating and securing trade, export and foreign direct investment opportunities from the Americas into South Australia, Mr Lipkin will support South Australian businesses and customers looking to expand within the Americas region.

“I am passionate about connecting businesses with new markets and opportunities which aligns perfectly with the South Australian Government’s mission of fostering trade and investment between the Americas and South Australia,” said Mr Lipkin.

“There are countless opportunities for South Australian companies to succeed in clean technology and artificial intelligence."

"By leveraging South Australia’s strengths in mining and materials science, South Australian companies are well positioned to make an impact in this market."

“South Australian companies that can support the development of technologies that leverage large language models (LLMs) or support their continued development are poised for immediate success here on the west coast.”

Australia has considerable market access advantages under the Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement (AUSFTA) which came into effect in 2005.

Mr Lipkin will facilitate connections and collaborations that create mutual benefit and is highly skilled at identifying potential partners, initiating discussions, and navigating the process to achieve successful outcomes.

South Australia and the State of California signed a letter of cooperation to advance shared leadership in renewable energy and clean hydrogen technologies. Mr Lipkin will be on hand to assist companies to further opportunities for collaboration and partnerships in this sector.
