Round 2 now open: helping manufacturers unlock their potential

As innovative technologies rapidly evolve the world around us, it is essential for businesses to keep pace to remain competitive, enhance productivity, and unlock opportunities for growth.

This is what the Department of State Development is committed to achieving through several initiatives, including the Manufacturing Technology Adoption Program (MTAP).

Round 2 is now open for MTAP, an initiative supporting small and medium local manufacturers with upfront costs associated with adopting innovative technologies in their business.

South Australian manufacturers are invited to apply for up to $50,000 in matched funding to support the adoption of productivity-boosting technologies. These technologies include (but are not limited to):

    • Artificial intelligence
    • Machine learning
    • Data analytics
    • Blockchain
    • Augmented and virtual reality
    • Additive manufacturing
    • Industrial Internet of Things
    • Photonics

Eligible MTAP projects will develop new or enhanced products, increase entry into new markets and/or boost competitiveness, and lift productivity by enabling workers to engage in more creative, value-adding tasks.

MTAP is funded through the Department of State Development’s Research and Innovation Fund. Through strategic initiatives, the Department of State Development is driven to guide future industry and government collaboration, grow manufacturing, and drive South Australia’s economic transition towards a knowledge-based, resilient, and greener economy.

The MTAP aligns with the objectives of South Australia’s Advanced Manufacturing Strategy: to guide future industry and government collaboration, grow manufacturing, and drive South Australia’s economic transition towards a knowledge-based, resilient, and greener economy.

    Applications close 29 September 2025.
