    Mapping SA’s AI capability

South Australia boasts the nation’s most concentrated pool of AI talent, giving the state a head start in capitalising on AI technologies to boost productivity, attract investment and provide better services to the community. We are not just participating in the AI economy – we are shaping it.

The Department of State Development has just released a new directory that maps South Australia’s extensive AI capability to help people and organisations to find each other, access services and build new partnerships.

The AI Capability Directory maps South Australia’s AI strengths in one place, from startups and researchers to training providers and specialist builders. This single, searchable platform is designed to help people and organisations find one another, access services and build new partnerships.

With all listings shared with the National AI Capability Directory and used to support inbound delegations and trade missions, you will be visible not only here in South Australia, but across the nation and even internationally.

If you are building AI, delivering AI, or enabling others to use it, you have a place on the AI Capability Directory:

    • AI native builders – organisations with AI at the core of their product or service
    • AI solution providers – companies deploying off-the-shelf AI solutions to solve real-world problems
    • AI skills providers – educators, trainers and consultants helping others build capability.

We know small and family businesses want to build their digital capability and harness the benefits of artificial intelligence, including improving productivity and driving growth. But they also need support to do it safely and effectively, and in a way that suits their operations.

The South Australian Government is offering up to $370,000 in funding for delivery partners to design and deliver a new AI program and provide mentoring, coaching and hands-on support to participants.

The AI Capability Pilot Program will demystify AI and give small businesses the tools to develop business plans or roadmaps and the confidence to adopt AI in their operations.
