Two new research exchange programs have been established between leading South Australian and international research institutes, supporting the transfer of knowledge in key industries.

The University of Adelaide will partner with France’s Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), with researchers travelling between the two countries to collaborate on projects that further the nations’ understanding of:

• the catalytic conversion of carbon dioxide to help mitigate climate change,
• the production and storage of hydrogen to support industrial end-user applications that are less reliant on fossil fuels, and
• data analytics, automation and artificial intelligence to support space and earth satellite observation.

Additionally, Flinders University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Strathclyde, agreeing to exchange and advance mutually beneficial knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies.

This program with see leading researchers from both universities, as well as BAE Systems Australia, collaborate on the development of next generation digital technologies with applications in naval shipbuilding.

Such technologies include automation, robotics, and simulation and modelling using virtual reality.

Both research exchange programs are supported by South Australian Government funding.
