Awards ceremony goes nuts as Almondco named South Australian Exporter of the Year

The South Australian Premier’s Business and Export Awards have seen grower-owned quality almond producer, Almondco Australia, awarded the state’s Exporter of the Year award, with Salisbury-based pharmaceutical company, Mayne Pharma, named South Australian Business of the Year.

They were amongst 27 of the state’s outstanding businesses acknowledged across various categories, including Munda Wines taking out the inaugural First Nations Exporter Award. The winners of the export awards will go on to participate in the Australian Export Awards held in Canberra later in the year.

Hosted by the South Australian Business Chamber in collaboration with the South Australian Government brought together 600 business leaders and government officials to hour South Australian business excellence.

Andrew Kay, CEO of the South Australian Business Chamber, praised the achievements of the night’s winners, noting the challenges faced by judges in selecting from an outstanding pool of nominees across all categories.

“The quality of submissions was incredibly strong again,” said Mr Kay. “Choosing a winning business from the finalists was challenging across all categories, highlighting the growing number of innovative and high-achieving businesses that call South Australia home.

“I congratulate all the winners and express my sincere gratitude to our major sponsors, Thomas Foods, William Buck and the University of South Australia, all the category sponsors and the South Australian Government whose support made the event possible.”
