$2.7 million in funding to science publisher RiAus

The South Australian Government has committed $2.7 million to the Royal Institution of Australia (RiAus), a not-for-profit science communications publishing house headquartered in Adelaide.

RiAus works alongside the nation’s science, research and education communities to provide accessible and trustworthy science news to the Australian public.

The organisation publishes the popular Cosmos Magazine, provides free resources to thousands of STEM educators, and hosts the Southern Hemisphere’s largest science film festival: SCINEMA.

This funding will support RiAus’s operating costs until the end of 2023. It will also empower the organisation to expand on its current list of publications to produce quality written, video and audio journalism on a broader range of topics.
