    Ai Group Workshops: Implementing New Workplace Relations Obligations

    Westland Hotel Motel, 100 Mcdouall Stuart Ave, Whyalla Norrie SA 5608

    The Australian Government has implemented far-reaching amendments to Australia’s workplace relations laws.

    With almost all of these amendments now in force, Australian Industry Group (Ai Group) is running a series of interactive workshops around Australia to provide employers with practical guidance to navigate key elements of these changes.

    Run over two morning sessions, the Whyalla workshops are designed to help you manage and achieve compliance with new rules relating to matters including:

    • Changes to casual employment – restrictions on who can be a casual and the new requirements relating to casual conversion as well as the issuing of the casual information statement;
    • The ‘Right to Disconnect’ and the additional requirements of the recently implemented modern award term dealing with this right;
    • Regulated labour hire arrangements orders – implications for those that use labour hire and labour hire providers;
    • Changes to the obligations and risks for employers relating to employee requests for flexible working arrangements;
    • The new test for who is an ‘employee’ as opposed to an independent contractor, and how to mitigate the risks arising from changes to the prohibition on ‘sham contracting’;
    • Limitations on the use of fixed term contracts.

    These workshops are available to businesses at no cost, supported by the Australian and South Australian Governments.

    Register to attend one or both workshops, depending on your interest in the topics listed.

    Seek confidential advice on your unique workplace challenges. Attendees are also invited to register their interest for a free 1:1 advisory session with an Ai Group employment law or Work, Health and Safety expert.
