    Adelaide and South Australia offer a world-class health and medical ecosystem – the heart of which is Adelaide BioMed City.

    Adelaide BioMed City is one of the world’s most connected and technologically advanced life sciences precincts, bringing together universities, government, hospitals and more than 2,000 researchers.

    Adelaide leads the nation in artificial intelligence (AI) for healthcare. South Australia’s unique data assets include a single electronic

    medical record across a universal healthcare system for 1.8 million people, with unique identification for each patient.

    These assets and capabilities open the door to investment opportunities which will improve patient care through local and international partnerships driving research and development into new products or services.

    South Australian Government supported initiatives

    The Medical Device Partnering Program, an initiative of Flinders University Medical Device Research Institute, is jointly funded by the South Australian Government to foster collaboration between researchers, industry and end-users to create medical technologies addressing clinical needs.

    The MTPConnect Adelaide Intermediary Program is focused on growing South Australia’s health and medical industry sector by fostering collaboration, strategically building capacity and attracting new talent and opportunity across the research, innovation and translation value chain.
