Put your hand up to access leading UK talent

Skilled migration plays a vital role in addressing South Australia’s workforce needs and is a key component in overcoming the challenges facing our labour market.

While the South Australian Government’s General Skilled Migration program addresses some of these shortages, quotas are limited. Employer sponsored migration programs are a more flexible and effective way for organisations experiencing labour shortages to directly select migrants with the skills and qualifications they need – and that’s what the UK skilled migration delegation is all about.

The delegation aims to set South Australia apart from other jurisdictions as a premium destination for skilled migration and provide a competitive advantage for local employers looking for highly skilled staff.

Visiting up to five cities in the UK – which may include Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff and London – the delegation will promote the state through a series of expo-style events, organisation booths, plenary sessions and opportunities to host information sessions or interviews with prospective migrants.

This approach allows organisations to not only showcase their offerings as employers, but to connect directly with potential candidates who have the skills they need. By building these direct relationships, this also creates a pipeline of prospective staff who are already highly motivated to migrate to South Australia.

Expressions of interest for this unique opportunity are now open to eligible organisations who are looking to fill skill gaps, expand their talent pool, increase business productivity and competitiveness, and enhance their workplace diversity.

Preference will be given to organisations looking to recruit overseas workers for positions in the following priority sectors:

    • Automotive
    • Construction and trades
    • Education
    • Early childhood education
    • Engineering
    • Information communication and technology
    • Health and care

Submissions will close on 11 July, with the delegation setting off for the UK in October.

Places on the delegation are limited, so get started on your submission now to be part of this opportunity.
