South Australia’s exports have risen to $17.56 billion, with the state’s exports to China reaching a record high of $4.23 billion, up 54.7 per cent on the previous year.

The state’s food, wine and agribusiness exports grew by 175.4 per cent, with exports to China valued at $1.88 billion, accounting for 44.5 per cent of all exports to China.

South Australia’s total barley exports grew 6.6 per cent to $802 million with 78 per cent of the state’s barley exported to China.

Other major exports to China included:

• Refined copper, valued at $935.2 million (up 28.3 per cent)
• Wheat, valued at $513 million (up 76.9 per cent)
• Non-crude petroleum oils, valued at $121.3 million
• Almonds, valued at $119.8 million (up 10 per cent)
• Wool, valued at $59.7 million.

Double-digit export growth continued for:

• The United States, with exports valued at $2.12 billion (up 33 per cent)
• New Zealand, with exports valued at $553 million (up 28 per cent)
• Vietnam, with exports valued at $571.1 million (up 21 per cent)
• Hong Kong, with exports valued at $367 million (up 24 per cent).
