Embracing industry 4.0 manufacturing to deliver world-first solutions

Rapid, more affordable, high-quality dental treatment – one local manufacturer is leveraging innovations to deliver smiles all round.

From orthodontics to digital dentistry, Adelaide-based ATi Laboratories, a globally recognised leader in dental prosthesis manufacturing, is to delivering exceptional solutions through the adoption of advanced digital technologies.

Recently, their Adelaide-based team were able to take this a step further thanks to the Department of State Development’s Manufacturing Technology Adoption Program (MTAP).

With MTAP funding, the company has integrated cutting-edge technologies that were previously beyond reach, including AI-driven scanning systems, AI-enhanced prosthetic design software, and additive manufacturing techniques.

These innovations have enabled ATi Laboratories to achieve same-day production of high-quality dental prosthetics, significantly reducing lead times and costs, while improving patient outcomes and clinician satisfaction. The result is a truly unique offering not currently available elsewhere.

“Our Nex Gen Implant Prosthetics solve the dilemma of soft tissue resorption post prosthesis insertion in immediate load cases. This enhances reliability, durability and reduces clinical and chairside time, benefiting dentists and their patients through reduced cost and provision of an immediate definitive restoration,” said ATi Laboratories Co-Founder Greg Miller.

Not only is this this innovative technology increasing efficiencies, business growth, and improving product quality, but it is also contributing to the local workforce by creating new jobs.

“Funding has increased our responsiveness to client dentists, opened markets for us locally, interstate and internationally, enabled further expansion of our operations in scale, scope and nature, and supercharged the efficiency of our Adelaide based workforce.”

After achieving significant breakthroughs through MTAP, Greg encourages other local manufacturers to apply for round 2.

“Go for it! The support from the program enables you to reach stretch goals with less financial risk and obtain technologies you may have been previously priced out of.”

Applications for round 2 of MTAP close 29 September. It’s essential for businesses to read the guidelines thoroughly to assess eligibility before applying.
