Connection and learning at Small Business Week

Presented by the Office for Small and Family Business, the Industry Advocate, the Commissioner for Consumer and Business Services, and South Australia’s Small Business Commissioner, Small Business Week 2024 provided businesses with up to 30 events, workshops and business-building opportunities.

The extensive program covered the gamut of challenges and opportunities faced by small business owners striving to do business better and build the capability they need to grow and thrive.

Business growth proved to be a major topic of interest, with strong registrations for sessions covering customer acquisition, developing and executing a growth strategy, finding new business opportunities and expanding internationally.

Harnessing critical technologies was also popular, with up to 100 registrations for workshops on leveraging generative artificial intelligence, steps businesses can take to mitigate cyber threats, and connecting with cyber industry experts.

The Lot Fourteen innovation district hosted a tour and startup showcase, while manufacturers were offered an in-depth introduction to advanced manufacturing at the Tonsley Innovation District.

Full-day Small Business Week programs were held in the Adelaide Hills, Berri, Kangaroo Island, Port Lincoln and Port Pirie.

A highlight of the program was the Small Business Expo, featuring a very special keynote address by leading business journalist Alan Kohler. This was complemented by the Gov to You exhibition, which brought together a range of government services for small businesses in one place.

Small Business Week will be back in 2025, so stay tuned for next year's program.
