Nine of South Australia’s most promising creative professionals will be supported to even greater success through the 2023 Robert Stigwood Fellowship Program.
Delivered by the South Australian Government in memory of Adelaide expat and global music industry icon Robert Stigwood, the Fellowship empowers local musicians and industry entrepreneurs to identify and achieve their creative and business goals.
Fellows receive intensive industry mentoring from Stu MacQueen and Dan Crannitch of Australian music company Wonderlick Entertainment—an internationally recognised record label and management representing high-profile acts including Amy Shark, Japanese Wallpaper, Holy Holy, and Montaigne.
The 2023 Robert Stigwood Fellows are:
Artist Fellows
- Aleksiah – Alexia Damokas is an indie-pop artist making waves with debut single Fern
- Elsy Wameyo – multiple SA Music Award winner and Triple J Unearthed Artist of the year, Elsy Wameyo is a singer, rapper and producer
- Marlon x Rulla – Marlon Motlop and Rulla Kelly-Mansell are a dynamic First Nations duo who recently toured the country with Xavier Rudd
- prettygirlpanic – rising singer and songwriter Sophie Kostrzewa is bringing feelings of melodrama and nostalgia to indie-pop
- The Empty Threats – a five-piece psych-rock band and crowd favourite of the Adelaide live music scene.
Industry Fellows
- Hannah Louise – The Sesh’n – venue and events coordinator, booker, promoter, podcaster and artist manager
- Luke Jamieson – Levaria – artist management and development
- Sam Lavers – Flow Process Music - festival promoter and programmer and artist manager
- Victoria Lewis – Sanaa Ink - programmer of diverse cultural experiences and artist management.
Artist Fellows will each receive a grant of $25,000, and Industry Fellows will receive $5,000 towards professional and career development opportunities.
Now in its eighth year, the Robert Stigwood Fellowship Program plays a significant role in helping South Australian artists develop both creatively and professionally, with many securing recording, publishing and management deals.
