The Governor’s Aboriginal Youth Awards recognise young Aboriginal South Australians excelling in sport, the arts or higher education, or showing potential and determination to succeed in these areas.

Nominations are now open for the Arts category of the Awards, which this year shines a light on talented and tenacious young Aboriginal people helping shape South Australia’s vibrant music scene.

Young South Australian Aboriginal solo artists aged between 15 and 29 years who are singers, songwriters, musicians or music producers are encouraged to nominate for the awards.

Along with recognition at the state’s highest level, award winners receive a certificate of recognition, $3000, and the services of a mentor to assist in career development.

Entries close 5pm Thursday 29 March 2018.
